Soff cutting is a method used to control cracking in new concrete paths and slabs by creating expansion joints. Soff cutting is required during the early stages of the concrete curing process, ideally in the first one to three hours from the time the slab was poured. This process reduces the internal stresses with the slab to minimise future cracking and chipping.
